Öğe Are Refugee and Native Patients’ Self-Care Agencies the Same?-A Cross-sectional Study in Chronic Hemodialysis Patients in Turkey(GALENOS PUBL HOUSEKacamak Sokak 21/1, ISTANBUL, Findikzade 34093, TURKEY, 2023) Kıskaç, Neşe; Rashidi, Mahruk; Cebeci, Egemen; Çoban, İlkay; Şekerci, AbdüsselamObjective: It was aimed to compare self-care agency of refugee and native populations in chronic hemodialysis patients. Methods: The study was conducted with 33 refugees and 48 native patients in the hemodialysis unit of a training and research hospital in our country. Data were collected through face-to-face questionnaire. IBM SPSS statistics program was used to evaluate the data. Results: In the study, there was a significant difference between two populations in terms of drug use (p=0.041, p<0.05) and selfmonitoring (p=0.048, p<0.05), which were sub-dimensions of the self-care scale, but there was no significant difference between two populations in terms of the total self-care agency scores (p=0.768). It was determined that there was no significant correlation between the sub-dimensions of self-care agency and the year the refugees lived in our country and the months they underwent hemodialysis (p>0.05). Conclusion: It was observed that in chronic hemodialysis patients, the situation of meeting their self-care was the same in the refugee and native populations, while the refugees were insufficient in the use of drugs and the native population in self-monitoring. It is thought that it is necessary to get support from a hospital interpreter in order to eliminate language problems while giving self-care training to refugees, and it is thought that it will be appropriate to conduct the study with groups with different chronic diseases.Öğe The Association between Some Good Mood Foods and Depression(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi Yayınları / Istanbul Gelisim University Press, 2023) Simzari, Wida; Özkarabulut, Ayşe Huri; Saeidlou, Sakineh Nouri; Rashidi, MahrukAim: Depression is a main public health problem and disability worldwide. A bi-directional influence can be between foods and psychological disorders. This study aimed to determine the association between some good mood foods and depression. The higher consumption of kiwi decreases the risk of depression. The ORs (95% CI) of low and high consuming of kiwi were 0.56 (0.19-1.68; p=0.3) and 0.12 (0.03-0.41; p=0.001) respectively. For honey the ORs (95% CI) in low and high consumption categories were 0.42 (0.12-1.46. p=0.17) and 0.32 (0.1-1.02. p=0.05) respectively. Conclusion: It was observed that the frequency of depression decreased in people who consumed high amounts of fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes, milk and yogurt.Öğe Determination of aging anxiety in middle-aged women(Assoc Medica Brasileira, 2024) Kiskac, Nese; Rashidi, Mahruk; Kiskac, MuharremOBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to determine the state of aging anxiety in middle-aged women. METHODS: The study was collected from women between the ages of 40 and 59 years by an online survey method. While collecting the data of the participants, the women's personal characteristics diagnostic form and the Aging Anxiety Scale for Middle-Aged Women were used. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 26 statistical software. RESULTS: The aging anxiety of the women was found to be moderate (53.05 +/- 16.26). A significant correlation was found between women's menopausal status, household income, education level, and total score of aging anxiety (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: In addition to working outside the home, women are also burdened with duties inside the home. To improve their quality of life, women need to share many of the tasks imposed on them with other family members. To reduce the anxiety experienced by women during the climacteric period, it is recommended to provide psychosocial support to women and consider this issue in health policies. Healthcare professionals, especially nurses, have important duties to reduce anxiety and stress, which constitute the basis of many chronic diseases. It is recommended that nurses, who are health ambassadors, direct women with anxiety to psychological support services through screenings they will conduct for women during this period.Öğe Determination of the relationship between self-care agency and sleepiness in chronic hemodialysis patients(Assoc Medica Brasileira, 2023) Kiskac, Nese; Rashidi, Mahruk; Cebeci, Egemen; Coban, Ilkay; Kiskac, MuharremOBJECTIVE: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between self-care agency and sleepiness in chronic hemodialysis patients.METHODS: The study was conducted with 75 patients with chronic renal failure in the hemodialysis unit of a training and research hospital in our country. For this reason, nurses working in these units should be psychologically resilient. However, nurses who are constantly exposed to the death process face the risk of thanatophobia. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between thanatophobia levels and the psychological resilience of nurses working in intensive care and palliative care units. Methods The sample of this descriptive and cross-sectional study included 158 nurses working in intensive care and palliative care units. Personal information form for nurses, Thanatophobia Scale and Psychological Resilience Scale for Adults were used. Data were collected through an online questionnaire in the study. Percentage calculations, mean measurements, Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney U test were used in the statistical evaluation of the data. Results The mean of thanatophobia scale and psychological resilience scale was found 31.74 +/- 10.08 and 108.34 +/- 7.12, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between the tanatophobia total scale score and age, receiving training on psychological resilience (p < 0.05). A statistically significant difference was found between perseption of self, family cohesion and perception of future and the status of receiving training on psychological resilience (p < 0.05). A statistically negative significant correlation was determined between the thanatophobia scale and the psychological resilience scale total scores. Conclusions As a result, it was determined that as the thanatophobia of the nurses increased, their psychological resilience decreased. This situation may negatively affect nurses working in critical departments to provide quality health care to patients. Establishing and maintaining training programs to reduce thanatophobia and increase psychological resilience of nurses working in intensive care and palliative care units will ensure that nurses provide quality health care to the patient and reduce the physiological and psychological wear of nurses.Öğe Factors Affecting Disease Acceptance and Disease Acceptance of Individuals with Diabetes(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi Yayınları / Istanbul Gelisim University Press, 2024) Rashidi, Mahruk; Yıldırım, GülayAim: Disease acceptance in patients with diabetes provides disease management.
