Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin % 74.8’i kadın, % 97.8’si bekâr olup %17.5’i Sosyal Hizmet, %16.7’si Odyoloji, %16.1’i Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon, %14.9’u Hemşirelik, %14.7’si Çocuk Gelişimi, %12.5’i Beslenme ve Diyetetik, %7.6’sı Sağlık Kurumları İşletmeciliği bölümündedir. Katılımcıların bireysel özellikleri incelendiğinde; %42.7’sinin ailesinin yanında kaldığı, %84.9’unun çalışmadığı, %67.4’ünün sosyal etkinliklere katılmadığı, %50.1’inin akademik başarı algısının orta düzeyde olduğu, %52.9’unun arkadaş ilişkilerini orta olarak tanımladığı, %45.1’inin sosyal ilişkilerden nadiren memnun kaldığı bilgisine ulaşılmıştır. Katılımcıların Yaşam Doyumu Toplam Puan ortalaması 22.33±6.58 (min=5, max=35) olarak bulunmuştur. Katılımcıların Yaşam Doyumu puan ortalamalarına bakıldığında; kadınlarda, Beslenme ve Diyetetik bölümü 4.sınıf öğrencilerinde; gelir durumu iyi olanlarda; akademik başarı durumu orta olanlarda, yurtta kalanlarda, ilçede yaşamını sürdürenlerde, arkadaşlık ilişkileri iyi olanlarda, anne eğitim düzeyi ilköğretim olanlarda, baba eğitim düzeyi okuryazar olanlarda, sosyal etkinliklere katılanlarda daha yüksek bulunmuştur.
Aim: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the general life satisfaction levels and related factors of the students of the School of Health Sciences of a foundation university. Method: This is a descriptive type research. The universe of this study consisted of all the students who attended the College of Health Sciences in the academic year 2015-2016 (N=1200). 503 students who were attainable and accepted were included in the sample of the research. In the research, the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and the 24-item information form prepared by the researcher were used. Verbal approvals were obtained by informing the students about the work before the questionnaire was applied. The data of this study was analyzed with SPSS 16.0 Windows and Excel programs using Percentile frequency, Arithmetic mean, Standard deviation, T test and One way variance (ANOVA). The suitability of the data for normal distribution was tested by the single sample Kolmogorov Smirnov test and parametric tests were used because the significance value was greater than 0.05. Findings: The mean age of the students was 21.75±1.52 (min=17-max=28). Students participating in the research; 74.8% were female, 97.8% were single and 17.5% were studying at Social Work Department, 16.7% were studying at Audiology, 16.1% were studying at Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, 14.9% were studying at Nursing, 14.7% were studying at Child Development, 12.5% were studying at Nutrition and Dietetics, 7.6% were studying at Health Care Management. That was found when the individual characteristics of the participants are examined; 42.7% were staying with their family, 84.9% were not working, 67.4% were not participating in social activities, 50.1% had a medium level of academic achievement, 52.9% defined moderately their friendship relations, 45.1% were seldom satisfied with social relations. The participants' Life Satisfaction Total Points average was 22.33±6.58 (min=5, max=35). The scores was found higher when the average life satisfaction scores of the participants are examined; in women students in 4th grade of Nutrition and Dietetics; in who have good incomes; in whose academic achievements are middle; in who are living in the dormitories, in those who continued their lives in the county, in the ones with good friendship relations, in the level of mother education was primary education, in the level of father education was literate and in participants in social events. Conclusion: As a result of our research; The general life satisfaction of students of School of Health Sciences is medium. Statistical significance was found between income level and life satisfaction and between friendship relations and life satisfaction in the study.
