Öğe Controlling a Robotic Arm Using Hand Recognition Software(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi Yayınları / Istanbul Gelisim University Press, 2019-6-30) Çetinkaya, Ali; Öztürk, Onur; Okatan, AliWith the increasing need of repetitive tasks in the manufacturing industry, robotic automation is becoming a necessity. In the steel industry, workers become less efficient over time, causing interruptions during assembly. Robotic automation is capable of operating at highest efficiency therefore increasing productivity in the steel industry. The robot will be able to pick up and drop metallic object with the help of the electromagnet present on the robotic arm. The handling of the objects will be triggered by the hand gestures from the user. The image to be processed will be captured by an external camera. This robot is built as a prototype for the steel industry.Öğe Controlling A Robotic Arm Using Handwritten Digit Recognition Software(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi Yayınları / Istanbul Gelisim University Press, 2019-03-29) Çetinkaya, Ali; Öztürk, Onur; Okatan, AliAbstract- Repetitive tasks in the manufacturing industry is becoming more and more commonplace. The ability to write down a number set and operate the robot using that number set could increase the productivity in the manufacturing industry. For this purpose, our team came up with a robotic application which uses MNIST data set provided by Tensor flow to employ deep learning to identify handwritten digits. The system is equipped with a robotic arm, where an electromagnet is placed on top of the robotic arm. The movement of the robotic arm is triggered via the recognition of handwritten digits using the MNIST data set. The real time image is captured via an external webcam. This robot was designed as a prototype to reduce repetitive tasks conducted by humans. In this process, we discuss the trade-off between accuracy and interpretability of these machine learning techniques on clinical data. We also confirm the intuition of expert neonatologists on a few risk factors, such as gender, that were previously deemed as clinically not significant in RoP prediction. © 2019 IEEE.Öğe Optik Karakter Tanima Yöntemi ile Otomatik Tabela Okuyucu(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2017) Saray, Tu?ba; Çetinkaya, Ali; Okatan, AliIn this work, An automatic recognition system designed to be used while travelling in a coutry whose language is not known to the traveler. The system reads the traffic sign boards by using a camera. Then software of the system gives the meanings of the signs in known language in the computer screen attached to the car dash. OCR system in fact takes the information for the camera as an image. Then, the program translates the information in the form of letters and symbols. System uses Emgu CV tesseract OCR Motor. © 2017 IEEE.Öğe Production, and Analysis of a Two-Axis Food Liquid Pouring Machine(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi / Istanbul Gelisim University, 2023) Erdoğan, Muhammed Ömer; Okatan, Ali; Uz, Umut; Yılmaz, Furkan; Çetinkaya, AliPeople always want to feel special and different. This demand has not left us alone in the food sector and has improved itself as culinary arts and presentations. So much so that there are masters who can transform food liquids, such as pancake liquids, into art by making special shapes on them based on demand. As in every sector, the effects of technology are also seen here. Considering these needs and developments, this study focused on the production and tests of machines that would convert the drawings designed by people with the help of computers into food liquid. The machine, produced in the context of the study, has a two-axis mechanical structure and gives shape to the food liquid with the commands coming from a computer and the liquid pouring chamber. While this machine aims to provide convenience to people in terms of time and ability, it also contributes to the developing technology in the kitchen sector. As the machine’s working principle, a drawing is created first with shapes that people can draw on a tablet or a computer in front of them if they want, or they can choose readymade. Then, this drawing is converted to g code via the program and the movement coordinates of the pouring mouth of the machine are created. The system, controlled by a microprocessor, drives the motors and performs the operation. While the pouring process is supported with the help of a chamber air control system in which the food liquid is located, the cooking of the food liquid is ensured by the heat-adjustable tray under it.Öğe A Wideband Square Spiral Antenna for Multiple Airborne Applications(Fatma Kutlu Gündoğdu, 2019) Döğüşgen Erbaş, Cihan; Okatan, AliIn this article, we designed a wideband square spiral antenna with an impedance matching part that operated between 1500 – 5500 MHz (covering L, S, and C bands) for airborne uses such as Aeronautical Mobile Satellite Service, radar altimeters, Microwave Landing System, and airborne weather radars. The impedance matching part was a designed wideband balun. We obtained simulation results for scattering parameters, radiation patterns, antenna and system input impedances and gain values. The results confirmed that the antenna showed good matching and radiation characteristics within the mentioned frequency range.
