Özet
Araştırmanın amacı akuatik terapinin serebral palsili çocuklarda uygulandığında denge üzerine etkisini belirlemektir. Araştırmada daha önce akuaterapi eğitimi almamış serebral palsili 11 çocuğa (yaşları 4-8 arasında değişen) uygulanan akuatik egzersiz programı sonucunda bu çocuklarda dengeye etkisi Berg Denge Testi ile ölçülmüştür. Araştırmaya katılan serebral palsili çocukların altısı kız ve beşi erkektir. Araştırmaya katılanlara bireysel olarak haftada 2 saat olmak üzere 10 haftalık süreçte 20 saat akuaterapi egzersizleri uygulanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılanların berg denge testi ile uygulama öncesi ve uygulama sonrası denge özellikleri değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada yapılan Wilcoxon testi ile araştırmaya katılanların berg denge puanı ön test-son test sonuçlarına ve cinsiyetleri arasında berg denge puanı ön test-son test sonuçlarına ilişkin tanımlayıcı istatistikler değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılanların ön test ve son test denge değerleri arasında anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. Araştırmaya katılanların berg denge ölçeği ön test-son test sonuçlarına ait tanımlayıcı istatistikler değerlendirildiğinde, berg denge ön test medyan değeri 8, son test medyan değeri ise 18 olduğu ve Wilcoxon testi ile değerlendirildiğinde aralarındaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu görülmektedir (Z:-2,814; p?0,05). Araştırmaya katılanların cinsiyetleri arasında berg denge puanı ön test-son test sonuçlarına ilişkin tanımlayıcı istatistikler değerlendirildiğinde, kızların berg denge ön test medyan değeri 8.5, son test medyan değeri ise 22,5 olduğu ve Wilcoxon testi ile değerlendirildiğinde aralarındaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu görülmekte, (Z:-2,226; p?0,05), bununla birlikte erkeklerin berg denge ön test medya değeri 1, son test medyan değeri ise 11 olduğu ve Wilcoxon testi ile değerlendirildiğinde aralarındaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmadığı görülmektedir (Z:-1,826; p>0.05). Araştırmaya katılanlara uygulanan berg denge testi ile akuaterapi almadan önceki ve aldıktan sonraki sonuçları kaydedilerek, sonuçlar arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilip, Wilcoxon testi sonuçlarına göre dengenin olumlu şekilde geliştiği görülmüştür. Son testin ön testten büyük olduğu 10 gözlem sonucu ve ön testin son teste eşit olduğu 1 gözlem sonucu var olmuştur. Uygulanan akuaterapi egzersizinin etkileri olarak berg denge puanı kişiler üzerinde artış göstermiş ve deneklerde olumlu durumlar gözlenmiştir. Bir denek haricinde ortalama çocukların denge durumunda gelişme olmuştur. Bir tek denekte hiç olumlu gelişme sağlanamamış olması hastalığın tipine/ şiddetine bağlanabilir.
The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of aquatic therapy on balance when applied in children with cerebral palsy. In the study, after an aquatic exercise program applied to 11 children (age range 4-8) with cerebral palsy who have not previously received aquatic exercise program, the effect of this program on balance in children separately has been measured with the Berg Balance Test. Six of the children participating in the study are girls and five are boys with cerebral palsy. 20 hours of aquatic therapy exercises have been applied to the participants in the 10-week period, 2 hours a week. Balance characteristics of the participants of the study have been evaluated before and after the application with the berg balance test. With the Wilcoxon test, descriptive statistics regarding the berg balance score pretest-posttest results of the participants have been evaluated in the study. A significant difference has been found between the pre-test and post-test balance values of the participants. When the descriptive statistics of the participants' berg balance scale pretest-posttest results were evaluated, it is seen that berg balance pretest median value is 8, as for posttest median value is 18, and when evaluated with Wilcoxon test, the difference between them is statistically significant, it is seen (Z:-2,814; p?0,05). When as of gender the descriptive statistics of the participants' berg balance scale pretest-posttest results were evaluated, it is seen that the girl participants' berg balance pretest median value is 8.5, as for posttest median value is 22,5, and when evaluated with Wilcoxon test, the difference is statistically significant, it is seen (Z:-2,226; p?0,05), however it is seen that the boy participants' berg balance pretest median value is 1, posttest median value is 11, and when evaluated with Wilcoxon test, the difference is statistically insignificant, it is seen (Z:-1,826; p>0.05). There were 10 observation results in which the posttest was greater than the pretest and 1 observation result in which the pretest was equal to the posttest. As the effects of the aqua therapy exercise applied, the berg balance score increased and positive states were observed on the subjects. Except one subject there was an average improvement at the balance state on these children. The fact that no positive development has been achieved in a single subject can be attributed to the type/severity of the disease.
